I'm using Mac and get the error "TexdroDesktop could not be launched".

1. Go into Java preference.
2. There you will see two boxes listing the versions of Java that are installed.
3. Move Java SE6 From The Sun Microsystems to the top of the list.

I'm using Windows and can't launch the application

You only need to do this if you have Java installed but can't launch the application anyways. For example if you get an error which says "Could not find the main class..."

With the latest Java installed, try this:

1. Right-click "Computer"
2. Properties
3. Advanced System Settings
4. Advanced tab > Enviriment Variables.
5. Double-click Path in the System Variables list, add the path to your Java bin directory, in my case: " ;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin"
6. Restart your computer!!!

7. Download JARFIX (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/...s/Jarfix.shtml)
8. Run it.

Connection problems

  • Is the desktop application (server) running? The Texdro icon at the tray bar should indicate this.
  • Is your phone connected to the same network as your computer?
  • Are you behind a strict firewall? If so, you should allow TexdroDesktop.jar in it. Texdro uses TCP port 4141 to communicate so you might need to allow LAN traffic through that port as well.
  • Make sure you have entered the same password on your computer and phone.
  • You could also try to restart your router.

Contact import

You find the import menu by double-clicking the Texdro tray icon or choose 'Open contacts' in the context menu.
There are three ways in which you can import contacts into Texdro:

One note: Texdro will only import contacts with numbers tagged as "Mobile", and will ignore other number types such as "Home" or "Work". This goes for all three import types.

1. Directly from your phone

Just connect your phone with Texdro and choose this option. It will take a while depending on how many contacts you have.

2. From your Gmail

Just enter your Gmail login and choose which group to import from, simple as that! Internet connection is required.

3. From a vCard file

vCard is a simple text file containing contact information. To obtain a vCard with your contacts, just Google your application of choice and "vCard export". For example:

"vcard export outlook"
"vcard export android"
....

Then just export your contacts from any application into a vCard and choose that vCard file in Texdro.

I've forgot my password

Click "Open data directory" in the right-click menu, open settings.txd and remove the line "password=***". Restart the application.
