About

Unmotivated to exercise? Keep Running might help you! With Keep Running, the music on your phone will stop playing while you're speed is under a certain limit. You can easy specify your own preferred  limit. This will make you walk or run in a constant speed, because who wants to miss their favorite music parts?

Keep Running can be running in the background while you are using other exercise or music apps. You can either use the pedometer (step counter) or the GPS to determinate your current speed.


Configuring

It can take a while before you find the settings for your personal likings. So please be patient and try out different settings to see what fits you best.


GPS

GPS is great and can be much more precise than the pedometer. However, it can be hard to get a signal when your indoors. GPS works best while you're outside.

You can choose if you want the music to continue playing when the GPS connection is lost, which is the default setting.


Pedometer (step counter)

The pedometer is great for indoors. However, it can be a bit tricky to get the settings right.

Here's a brief explanation for the pedometer settings:

  • Wake method - Some phones requires the phone/screen to be awake in order to use the accelerometer. The default settings is "Keep awake". You can try to set it to "Try anyways" to see if it works. If it does, great! That will save some battery power.
  • Step length - Your step length is required to calculate the speed. It doesn't have to be exactly right, but the more precise, the better.
  • Sensitivity - If the app is registering more steps than you take, try to lower the sensitivity. And vice-versa.
